Introspective Hypnosis Class & Retreat - September, 2022
From September 18 - 23, 2022 I co-trained with Antonio Sangio at the Bon Secours Retreat and Conference Center in Marriottsville, Maryland. The center is close to the Baltimore Airport, however, I chose to take the auto-train which travels directly from Sanford, Florida to Lorton, Virginia.
The Introspective Hypnosis class/retreat had 19 students who were eager to learn this method. Some had already been practicing other hypnosis techniques, but most of them had no hypnosis experience at all. Antonio explains each step carefully, providing plenty of material, examples, anecdotes and videos to teach this method. I added my own stories and experiences.
The Introspective Hypnosis model has 6 steps:
- The Interview
- Navigating memories
- Finding the origins
- Working with lost souls
- Bringing the client out of trance
As each day progressed, the students went from looking lost and overwhelmed, to enthusiastic and hungry for more information. By day 5, they were excited (and scared too) and began to practice everything they had learned. On day 6, they did their first Introspective Hypnosis session in class with our assistance. The wonderful thing about this class was that we're both there to answer questions from our own point of view and experiences.
The Bon Secours Retreat and Conference Center is surrounded by beautiful nature with trees, gardens, walking paths, a gazebo, meditation labyrinth, pool, and rock garden. You can sit on a bench and meditate to the sound of rushing water by their beautiful garden or watch a deer grazing in the distance.
Meals are served buffet-style in the dining hall and this gave us an opportunity to eat together for breakfast, lunch and dinner to get to know each other some more and answer questions. Water (hot and cold), sodas, coffee and tea were available all day long.
After dinner, we regrouped for outdoor activities and after dark, came back into the classroom to observe Antonio facilitating a hypnosis session for a volunteer. This gave everyone the opportunity to see how their lessons were applied.
After two years of isolation, separation and mandates, this class/retreat gave everyone the opportunity to meet others like themselves in person, to develop new friendships, and to learn techniques that can help so many other people.
